Stress echocardiography
Echo before and after exercise or medicine to test blood supply.
What happens
Images of the heart are taken at rest and again when the heart is working harder, on a treadmill or with a medicine. Areas that move less under stress point to narrowed arteries.
Before your visit
Light meal two hours before. Bring comfortable walking shoes and ask whether to stop any heart-rate medicines.
